Pea Soup

1 Ham bone or pork hock
3-4 potatoes, peeled and chopped
1 pt carrots, peeled and chopped
stalk of celery, chopped
3/4 bag dried peas
water
salt and pepper
Place bone in a large cooking pot. Add vegetables and water. Cook 2-3 hours on low heat.

Rainbow Jello Salad

One package each of the following flavors of jello Black cherry, cherry#, strawberry, peach #, orange, lime#, lemmon.
For the # layers of jello mix 1/2 c. carnation milk and 1 c. hot water to a package of jello.
For the other layers mix 1 1/2 c. water (part boiling and part cold per package of jello.) Layer the jello mixtures in the bottom of a 9 by 13 inch pan starting with the black cherry layer. Put pan in freezer to set jello while you make the next layer. Top the salad with cool whip.

Red Hot Applesauce Salad

1/3 c. read hots
1 c. boiling water
1 3 oz. pkg. cherry jello
2 c. unsweetened applesauce

Dissolve red hots in boiling water (heat in microwave as needed to dissolve-stirring inbetween). Dissolve cherry jello in water/red hot mixture; add the applesauce and stir until blended; chill until firm.

Oven baked strogenoff

2 lb. chuck of round steak
1 can cream of mushroom soup
1 pkg. onion soup mix
1 c. water
2-3 Tbsp. sour cream

Cut meat in serving pieces or cubes and put into casserole. Combine soups and water, pour over meat. Put a tight cover on this casserole because it requires a long slow cooking in a 350 degree oven for 2 hours. When meat is very tender, remove to warm platter and stir in sour cream into remaining juices and pour over meat. Ready to serve.

Chicken Breast Apricot

Deboned chicken breasts
Place on greased baking sheet

Mix together
1/2 c. apricot jam
1/2 c. Russian dressing
1 pkg. dry onion soup

spread on chicken
Bake 350 degrees 1 hour

Barbeque

1 lbs. hamburger (browned)
1 onion chopped fine
1 c. finally chopped celery
2 Tbsp. brown sugar
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
1/2 tsp. mustard
1 can tomato soup
Combine and cook slowly for one hour. Spread hot between buns.

Scrabble

2 lb. mixed salted nuts
1 12 oz. pkg spoon size shredded wheat squares
1 (10 1/2 oz) pkg. doughnut shaped oat cereal
1 (6 oz) box bite size crisp rice squares
1 (7oz) pkg. small pretzel sticks
1 (4 1/2 oz) can pretzel bits
2 c. salad oil
2 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 Tbsp garlic salt
1 Tbsp seasoned salt
Mix ingredients in a very large roaster or large pans. Bake at 250 degrees for 2 hours
stirring and turning mixture with wooden spoon every 15 min. Makes 9 qts
